What is Public Liability Insurance?
Public and Products Liability is a policy that will provide cover for negligence that results in injuries to a person; or where your business activity or product causes harm. It also covers you for claims in relating to other’s damaged property.
How Much Cover do I need?
Policy limits are generally $5m, $10m or $20m. Depending on your industry will determine the level of cover you need. A good rule of thumb is the more people you deal with at the one time the higher the limit you should have as a catastrophic claim from two people will cost less than that of a claim from 25 people. Leases and Contract requirements may also stipulate what level of cover you are required to have.
